Reporting and Assessment
The school year is divided into two semesters. Throughout the semester, a collection of formative and summative assessments (including but not limited to written tests, oral presentations, practical assignments) are designed to provide evidence of a student’s overall performance and achievement in each subject.
Course content and assessments in each subject are based around the Australian Curriculum and, in later years, SACE, which details required course components, learnings and essential skills at each year level.
Two written reports are issued for each student – in Terms 1 and 3 for Year 11 and 12 students, and in Terms 2 and 4 for Reception to Year 10 students. Short reports are issued in Terms 2 and 4 for Year 11 and 12 students, and in Terms 1 and 3 for Reception to Year 10 students.
Parent-Teacher interview nights and subject choice counselling interviews are held throughout the year. Parents and caregivers are invited to contact the school if they have concerns about their child’s progress and to take advantage of these opportunities to meet with teachers about their child’s learning.
