Community centre

Paralowie R-12 School is very fortunate to have a community centre as part of our school.

Our community centre is a friendly, supportive and welcoming environment where adults and families from our school community can join in a range of activities, information sessions and programs. Our aim is to promote healthy wellbeing, active learning, and positive engagement and enable our families to assist in the learning outcomes of their children.

Community Hub programs

The Paralowie Community Hub offers a range of activities that support skill development for all and programs with a focus on early learning. All our programs actively promote social inclusion and engagement.

Our activities include:

  • Adult learning programs and classes – including computing, basic English language skills, and citizenship preparation
  • Creche – offered for 3 classes per week
  • Playgroup (0 to 5 years) – offered Wednesday mornings during term time.

See our Hub timetable for more details.

Second-hand uniform shop

Second-hand uniforms are available in our second-hand uniform shop, located in the community centre off Halba Crescent, Paralowie.

Stock is always changing, so it’s a good idea to contact us to see what we have. If you have school uniform items that you no longer need, bring them over and we can sell them for you.

Second-hand shop open hours (during school terms only)

  • Mondays 8.20am to 9.30am
  • Thursdays 2.00pm to 3.15pm

Drop by at the above times or call Selia on (08) 8182 7222 to make an appointment. See our flyer here.

Visit our volunteering page or call (08) 8182 7243 to find out more or to register as a volunteer.

Parents and Friends Committee

The Paralowie R-12 Parents and Friends Committee is based in the community centre. The role of the group is to provide opportunities for parents within the school community to get to know more about what happens here at school and how parents can be actively involved. We hold monthly meetings and new members are always welcome.

The group holds activities to raise funds for the school, such as sausage sizzles, craft stalls, school discos and raffles.

For more information, contact Liz Goodwin (Chairperson, Parents and Friends Group) via the school on (08) 8182 7222.
